The Market was established in July 2000 as a part of a Partnership initiative to promote local food and farming. Several of the original traders are still with us in 2011 though the number has varied each month because of the seasons, ill health or inclement weather. A team of volunteers manages the stalls and most of them have also been with the market from the start.
